"The act of creating my photo-realistic drawings is an incredibly meditative process. It offers an opportunity to reflect upon my thoughts and beliefs in deeply personal and informed ways. My inquisitive nature regarding my family and history as a whole informs much of my work. Drawing connections between the past and the present world I’m living in now offers me the ability to develop crucial critical thinking strategies through my artwork. Developing my artistic process and the physical act of creating the art shows my interest in progress, whether historical or right at my finger tips. As I continue my artistic endeavors through art school and beyond, I will continue to ask myself the questions 'How did we get here?' and 'Where will we go next?'."
